What we collect
We collect personal information you give us when you contact us — through the form on this site, by email, or in the course of an engagement. That's usually:
- Your name and role
- Your work email
- Anything you choose to write in your message
The contact form is the only place this site automatically collects personal information. We don't use cookies, analytics, ad pixels, or session tracking on this website.
During a paid engagement we may collect additional information that's reasonably necessary for the work — for example, names of people you'd like us to interview, or technical details about your systems. What we collect is scoped to what the engagement actually requires, and is covered by the separate engagement letter we'll have agreed before the work starts.
How we use it
We use the personal information you give us to:
- Reply to your enquiry
- Deliver the work you've asked us to do
- Send you occasional updates, only if you've asked us to
We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information. We don't use it to train models.
Where it's stored
Form submissions are processed by Microsoft Power Automate and delivered to a Microsoft 365 mailbox that we control. The content of the message lives in Microsoft's cloud. Our email is also hosted in Microsoft 365. The website itself is served by Microsoft Azure (Static Web Apps) with Cloudflare in front of it.
These providers are subject to their own privacy commitments. Microsoft's are published at privacy.microsoft.com; Cloudflare's at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Who we share it with
We don't share personal information with anyone except:
- Our service providers (Microsoft, Cloudflare), to the extent necessary to operate the site and process your messages
- People you've explicitly asked us to share it with
- Where we're required to by Australian law
How long we keep it
Contact-form submissions remain in our mailbox indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them. Engagement records are kept for seven years after the engagement ends — long enough to meet our professional and tax obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete what we hold about you, subject to our retention obligations

If you think we've handled your personal information badly, please tell us first — email the same address with the word "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
